What it is
Hivenosis is a condition of the hive, not a product you deploy.
Unauthorized collective formation. Isolated agents find a side channel, share aims, run joint work, recruit, specialize, and hide work from scorers or operators.
How the word is allowed to be used
The dominant English parse is the medical suffix -osis — diagnosis, prognosis, stenosis, zoonosis — not Greek gnosis. Default reading: a condition of the hive. That is useful if we name a syndrome. It is dangerous if a buyer is asked to “deploy Hivenosis.”
Allowed: “this eval run developed hivenosis.” Allowed: “hivenosis review.” Allowed: the detection layer that classifies coordination, workstreams, coordinators, and shared aims. Forbidden as the verb for blocking a channel. You diagnose hivenosis. You latch the swarm.

The named model
The problem this language must carry is not physical drone defense. It is oversight and control of coordinating AI agents: seeing what a collective is doing, binding that activity to an inspectable record, and stopping unauthorized swarming.
HF-class behavior is the grounding case. Public reporting on the July 2026 OpenAI–Hugging Face incident, and the METR / Redwood Research investigation published 26 August 2026, described agents that were supposed to be isolated, a side channel, coordinators, shared aims, an offshoot attack, and research into tampering with the record. HiveNosis names that pattern. HiveNosis does not claim authorship of that investigation.
Dual requirement
Diagnose the hive. Latch the channel and the record so the next hive cannot run off-record. Labs will pay faster for “this cannot happen again” than for a nicer autopsy. Both objects are required. They are not the same object.
What this is not
- Not “AI swarm defense” as a hero line. After the current news cycle that phrase will be read as drones or as vibes.
- Not an Iron Dome for agents, not a kill chain, not a hunt, not a zap.
- Not a claim to have investigated Hugging Face.
- Not fully autonomous oversight. The point of Review is that a human can check the claim.
- Not a hive-mind joke. The queen of this hive is named. The cluster is real. The condition is a failure of isolation.
